Heal the Status Quo Belief

Welcome to the grand opening!

We’ve all been raised with the idea that you wait until you get sick or have symptoms and then begin an expensive course of treatment where the doctor is in control of the information and resources necessary for making decisions. These treatments always have side effects that often include dangerous procedures and addictive drugs.

“I don’t think that way.” How about you?

As the late great chiropractor teacher and evangelist of health Dr. Guy Riekeman taught:

  • “We believe the body is amazing and beautiful, that is designed from day one to be healthy.”

Deepak Chopra and Dr. Tanzi in their phenomenal books “Supergenes” and The Healing Self” expand:

  • The body is self-healing, self-correcting, and self-rejuvenating all designed to allow you to be healthy and adapt to the world around you.
  • So important is this mind/body interaction that is shared in all our cells that Chopra has started calling it the Body-mind to denote it is one and whole.

Dr. Riekeman and major researchers continue:

  • …We know that the nervous system controls and coordinates all the internal functions necessary for life and adapts you to the external challenges your body faces-You are your nerve system.
  • …We have identified four important interferences to your nerve system; physical traumas that can begin at birth, biochemical influences (food and diet), environmental toxins, and emotional stresses that have resulted in symptoms and disease and a reduced quality of life.
  • …I focus on self-correcting mental, lifestyle and daily practices that lessens interferences and damages to your nerve system and in helping you build a more natural, prosperous, and active LIFESTYLE. We want you to live life with a healthy brain and nerve system and eat well, move well, sleep well, play well, and think well.

DO YOU AGREE and WANT THIS FOR YOURSELF?

If you think the way we do, that the body can heal itself, that life is more than living symptom free, that prevention and wellness are as important as acute symptom relief, that healthy living begins at birth, that we should define health by how well we function, and that healthcare should be an ongoing partnership (participatory medicine – you are an active consenting participant) between you and your health facilitator.

If you think this way, we invite you to join us during our grand opening. (click here to join).

Healing

From my perspective healing is more about regaining balance and letting the body use its natural intelligence to heal. To get out of own way (Let Go and Let God). Healing is actually the missing pillar of standard medicine which until recently focused mostly on trauma care and illness management.

In Ayurveda, we locate the mistake of intellect and restore balance.

In Chi Gong we release blockages to energy flow and slowly release back to harmony.

The Tao says: “Empty yourself of everything. Let the mind become perfectly still. The ten thousand things rise and fall while the Self watches their return.”

In Taoism, healing begins when you stop doing and start being. This passage encourages you to drop your mental burdens so your body can redirect its energy toward cellular repair and balance. It is not a doing activity its being (well, energized and alive).

Taoist movement practices, Yoga as traditionally practiced in India) aren’t about pushing harder or sweating more.

They’re a system built around a completely different question: how do we move in a way that keeps the body vital, resilient, and functioning well for as long as possible?

Takeaways on Body, Mind, Heart, and Spirit based healing

  • Taoist movement practices like Qigong, Tai Chi, and Yoga treat the body as a living energy system, not just a mechanical one to be trained.
  • Research consistently shows these practices reduce cortisol, activate the parasympathetic nervous system, and support long-term immune health.
  • The difference between Yoga, Qigong and Tai Chi is one of emphasis — pranic Yoga and Vinyasa, Qigong focuses on internal energy cultivation, Western power yoga, kundalini, and Tai Chi integrates that into flowing movement sequences with more intensity.
  • Standing meditation (Zhan Zhuang), a frequent practice in Chi Gong and Tai Chi, is one of the most overlooked tools for building structural integrity and deep internal energy.
  • Mindful movement — where breath, attention, and the body are coordinated together — produces effects that movement alone cannot replicate. It harmonizes body and mind for re-connection and expansion.

Most people in the West think of movement as something you do to burn calories, build muscle, or manage weight. These are legitimate goals.

But Taoist and Yogic body cultivation starts from a different premise entirely: that the human body runs on qi or prana— a form of vital life force — and that the quality of your health depends on how freely that energy circulates.

What Taoism and Yoga recognized thousands of years ago is that slow, breath-coordinated, intentional movement creates a specific physiological state — one where the nervous system settles, blood pressure drops, stress hormones reduce, and the body’s self-healing capacity gets room to operate.

Modern medicine has focused on treating disease after it appears. What conventional healthcare is still catching up on is the upstream question: how do we maintain the conditions inside the body that make disease less likely in the first place?

This is what Taoist and Ayurveda worked on for many thousands of years with great success.
